COMPANIONS   "साथीहरू"

Man is a social animal. He lives in society. He requires the help of many people. He needs some companions. He cannot be happy without companions. No man can live alone. Even birds and animals need companions.

We need companions mainly for two reasons. First, we require companions for pleasure. We talk with our companions; we play with them, we walk with them. Secondly, we need companions for help. We work with them and take their advice. We seek their help when we are in trouble. In short, we may say that companions share our joys and sorrows.

It is said that birds of the same feather flock together. We keep the company of those who are like us in age and temperament. Children keep the company of children; young persons keep the company of young persons; old persons keep the company of old persons. Rich persons have rich companions, while poor persons have poor companions. Wicked people keep the company of wicked people, good people keep the company of good people.

Companions have a great influence on our lives. We do as our companions do. If we keep the company of liars, we become liars. If we keep the company of drunkards, we become drunkards. If our companions are honest, we become honest. If our companions are truthful, we become truthful. A man is known by the company he keeps. So we should choose good companions and avoid bad ones.

Children may be spoilt by bad company. They cannot know good and bad companions. Parents and teachers should help them to choose good companions. If children mix with bad companions, their lives may be ruined.

 "साथीहरू"

मानिस सामाजिक प्राणी हो । ऊ समाजमा बस्छ । उसलाई धेरै मानिसहरूको सहयोग चाहिन्छ। उसलाई केही साथी चाहिन्छ। साथीबिना ऊ खुसी हुन सक्दैन। कुनै पनि मानिस एक्लै बाँच्न सक्दैन। पंक्षी र जनावरलाई पनि साथी चाहिन्छ।

हामीलाई मुख्यतया दुई कारणले साथीहरू चाहिन्छ। पहिलो, हामीलाई आनन्दको लागि साथीहरू चाहिन्छ। हामी हाम्रा साथीहरूसँग कुरा गर्छौं; हामी तिनीहरूसँग खेल्छौं, हामी तिनीहरूसँग हिंड्छौं। दोस्रो, हामीलाई सहयोगको लागि साथीहरू चाहिन्छ। हामी उनीहरूसँग काम गर्छौं र उनीहरूको सल्लाह लिन्छौं। हामी समस्यामा पर्दा तिनीहरूको मद्दत खोज्छौं। छोटकरीमा, हामी भन्न सक्छौं कि साथीहरूले हाम्रो सुख र दु:ख साझा गर्छन्।

भनिन्छ एउटै प्वाँखका चराचुरुङ्गीहरु एकै ठाउँमा जम्मा हुन्छन् । उमेर र स्वभावमा हामीजस्तैको संगत राख्छौं। बच्चाहरूले बच्चाहरूको संगत राख्छन्; युवा व्यक्तिहरूले युवा व्यक्तिहरूको संगत राख्छन्; वृद्धवृद्धाले वृद्धवृद्धाको संगत राख्छन् । धनी व्यक्तिका धनी साथीहरू हुन्छन्, जबकि गरिबहरूका गरिब साथीहरू हुन्छन्। दुष्ट मानिसहरूले दुष्टहरूको संगत राख्छन्, असल मानिसहरूले असल मानिसहरूको संगत राख्छन्।

साथीहरूको हाम्रो जीवनमा ठूलो प्रभाव छ। हामी हाम्रा साथीहरूले जस्तै गर्छौं। झूटाको संगत राख्यौं भने झूटा बन्छौं। मदिराको संगत राख्यौं भने मादक बन्छौं। यदि हाम्रा साथीहरू इमानदार छन् भने, हामी इमानदार बन्छौं। यदि हाम्रा साथीहरू सत्यवादी छन् भने, हामी सत्यवादी बन्छौं। मानिस आफूले राखेको कम्पनीबाट चिनिन्छ। त्यसैले हामीले असल साथी छान्नुपर्छ र नराम्रालाई टाढै रहनुपर्छ।

नराम्रो संगतबाट बालबालिका बिग्रन सक्छन् । तिनीहरूले राम्रो र खराब साथीहरू जान्न सक्दैनन्। अभिभावक र शिक्षकहरूले उनीहरूलाई असल साथी छान्न मद्दत गर्नुपर्छ। यदि बच्चाहरू खराब साथीहरूसँग मिसिए, तिनीहरूको जीवन बर्बाद हुन सक्छ।
